Summer Job Program 2017

Get involved in increasing legal profession diversity! Support LAWS by employing a student or donating a student salary as part of our annual Summer Job Program (SJP). Please contact us at if you have any questions.

In 2016, with the support of our generous partners, we were able to place 112 students into paid summer positions. Sign up to become one of our wonderful SJP employers/donors here

The SJP provides LAWS students with engaging and inspiring early work experiences by exposing them to professional workplaces and introducing them to positive role models. Placements are four weeks and take place in July or August, with students taking on mainly administrative roles. The program dates for 2017 are July 4 – July 28 (for a July placement) and July 31 – August 25 (for an August placement). The cost of employing a student for a four week placement is only $1950. Ideally, employers take on two students for consecutive four-week placements. LAWS administers all aspects of the application and placement process, provides student orientation and training, and works closely with you during placements to ensure that the SJP is rewarding and successful for everyone.

Donating student salaries allows us to fund placements at legal aid clinics or law-related public interest organizations. In other words, donations help employ LAWS students and support public interest organizations! We let you know which organization and LAWS student your donation supports and provide you with charitable tax receipts.
