Osgoode Hall Law School

Of course, students are quite simply the lifeblood behind who we are and what we do in a great law school.  Our students bring intelligence, diversity, creativity and leadership to Osgoode. They leave with a drive to excel, and a commitment to improve their communities.  – Dean Lorne Sossin

Osgoode Hall Law School at York University is the oldest law school in Ontario and one of the largest common-law law faculties in Canada. It was established by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1889 and is consistently ranked as one of the top law schools in the country.

In 2011, LAWS expanded its partnership to include Osgoode Hall Law School.  This allowed it to add two new LAWS partner high schools in Osgoode’s neighbourhood to the program, C W Jefferys Collegiate Institute and Westview Centennial Secondary School. Most LAWS volunteer activities are recognised by OPIR - the Osgoode Public Interest Requirement.
